Dareechah-e-Nigaarish

 Sarmad Sehbai's poems echo through one's psyche for a long time after one has read them for the first time! 

Multi-talented, being both a successful playwright as well as a  flamboyant poet, innovative, daring and vivid in his imagery, he often presents his view of life through metaphors soaked in the beauty of the human body and of physical love. 

His diction has a generous helping of beautiful, sonorous Punjabi words which blend seamlessly into his elegant Urdu. His poems mark him as a master of the modern Urdu poem.

He has written nazms, ghazals as well as geet, displaying a depth and a range that is rare amongst his counterparts. He ranks among the top 5 modern Urdu poets of our time.
